MythTV 0.21 Release Information

The Mythbuntu team would like to take the time to announce the availability of MythTV 0.21 now available in the Ubuntu Gutsy Backports repository. With it's availability, a few things will change.

Gutsy

The current Gutsy mythbuntu-fixes repository will not be updated for the rest of gutsy's duration. Upstream MythTV isn't changing 0.20.2-fixes, so doing weekly builds of the same thing doesn't make sense. Additionally, we don't want to force people to switch to 0.21 by putting 0.21-fixes builds for the Gutsy mythbuntu-fixes repository.

If you are currently using a Gutsy machine, and you would like to remain on .20.2, then you don't need to do anything. If you would like to upgrade to 0.21, you can either activate the Gutsy backport or upgrade to Hardy.

Note: If you have multiple machines using MythTV (i.e. multiple frontends or backends), be aware that 0.20.2-fixes is not compatible with 0.21, this means all of your systems will be required to upgrade.

The current Gutsy mythbuntu-trunk repository will be moved from MythTV 0.21 back to trunk. If you wish to remain on 0.21, then you must deactivate this repository and then activate the Gutsy backports repository.

Highlights:

* 0.20.2 will remain in the archive
* 0.21 Initial release is backported
* Mythbuntu-Trunk weekly builds will be moved to 0.22

Hardy

Hardy builds of both 0.21-fixes and 0.22-trunk will begin when Hardy is released.
