Automatic Weekly Build Support

Bugs & Stability

These packages are built weekly directly from svn snapshots without user intervention.  As such, these packages should be considered stable and safe to work with. Should you encounter any troubles with them however, bugs should not be filed on Ubuntu's bug tracker.  The Ubuntu package version numbers will always be lagging behind
these.  Instead file bug reports at https://bugs.launchpad.net/mythbuntu/+filebug.  These bug reports will be used as a gauge to get stable release updates and backports into Ubuntu, letting us know about troubles that may be encountered in the future.

SVN Trunk Builds

Builds from the trunk branch have been included in the weekly build process. If you run into packaging-related issue, e.g. uninstallable packages, missing files etc, please file a bug in our bug tracker. All other issues, like segfaults or playback problems, belong into the bug tracker provided by upstream MythTV. Please read their bug reporting information before creating a new ticket!
You might be asked by MythTV developers to rebuild MythTV with additional patches given to you. If you don't know how to do that, please contact us using the options available on our support page.

Older Ubuntu Releases

In an effort to keep our weekly build process short, packages will only be built for the latest Ubuntu (and implicitly Mythbuntu) release as newer releases come out.  If you would like to continue to track these packages after an Ubuntu release, upgrade to the next release.  Older builds will not be purged, so you can still use the repository with an old Ubuntu release, but you won't get the latest packages.

New Ubuntu Releases

When upgrading to a new Ubuntu release, these packages will always have a newer upstream version number than the Ubuntu packages.  After discussing the appropriate version number to use on these packages, this makes the most sense.  As such, when upgrading to a new Ubuntu release, Ubuntu packages will not automatically replace these.  You will have to update your /etc/apt/sources.list manually to reflect the repository change for the new Ubuntu release.

Mirrors

At the moment, www.mythbuntu.org is the only host hosting and building these packages.  If you can provide web hosting and would be interested in mirroring them, contact us at ubuntu-mythtv AT lists.ubuntu.com. We can get a weekly rsync set up after the packages build Sunday nights.
