MythTV 0.24.1 has been released
The MythTV development team has released the next version of MythTV, version 0.24.1. The Mythbuntu team would like to thank the MythTV team (and you should too) for their hard work in getting this release out the door.
Major changes includ
MythTV 0.24.1 is a bug fix release containing nearly 300 fixes. Since this release does not contain any database schema or protocol changes it is completely compatible with MythTV 0.24.0 systems. The Mythbuntu team provides MythTV 0.24.1 builds for Mythbuntu 10.04, 10.10 and 11.04 via the MythTV Updates repository. For a full list of changes view the full release notes for MythTV 0.24.1 here.
Note: Since 0.24.1 is just a bug fix release and did not require a database schema change nor a protocol change these fixes will be contained in the 0.24.x repository. If you are already using the 0.24 repository you will automatically continue to get these updates.
Known issues
- As the full release notes say, all users upgrading from a previous version of MythTV to 0.24 are required to rescan for audio devices on their frontends (in the audio settings menu) after upgrading due to the rewritten audio framework which can conflict with legacy settings
- The backend REQUIRES a tv card now to start. If you don't have one there is an option to add a dummy card in mythtv-setup
